Bloombery Resorts Corporation from the Philippines, NagaCorp Ltd from Cambodia and Melco - Hard Rock Resort Cyprus Consortium from Macao are the three finalists seeking to get the one and only license to open the first casino in Cyprus, which will be either built in Limassol or Larnaca.
Melco - Hard Rock Resort Cyprus Consortium has already reveiled its intentions to build its project in the Fasouri area, which is the area next to My Mall.
According to the procedure, these three ventures will be requested to provide with complete project suggestions. The selected venture will be chosen until September 2016, with the first Cyprus casino hopefully opening its doors within the following two years, the latest.
The casino will be a tourist resort and it is consider a big challenge for the Cypriot government, the investors, as well as the city where this development will be created, as it is expected to boost the local economy and increase its popularity among the wealthy tourists.
